Ceramic Care Guide

Before first use

Rinse the piece with warm water and dry it fully. Avoid abrasive pads or cleaners that can mark the glaze or decoration.

Everyday cleaning

Hand washing with mild detergent and a soft sponge is the safest default. Let lidded pieces and vessels dry completely before storing them.

Avoid thermal shock

Do not move ceramic pieces suddenly between very cold and very hot conditions. Warm a brewing vessel gradually before adding near-boiling water.

Dishwasher and microwave use

Only use a dishwasher or microwave when the individual product page explicitly confirms that it is suitable. Metallic decoration and some specialty finishes must not be microwaved.

Tea staining

For light tea staining, soak the piece in warm water and clean gently with baking soda and a soft cloth. Do not use metal tools to scrape the surface.

Natural variation

Kiln-fired color, speckling, brushwork and glaze flow can vary from piece to piece. Refer to the product photographs and description for the finish expected on each item.
